Ziying Yang studied Digital Media Technology at Yunnan University in Kunming, China. Then she did her Master’s in Computer Application Technology at Southwest University in Chongqing, China. Her projects have included studying the genetic association of complex diseases at the level of pathways, genes and SNPs by integrating multi-level biological data, and analyzing the deficiencies of the existing weak supervision methods and conducting research based on semi-supervised learning technology, multi-label active learning technology and partial multi-label learning technology. She developed multi-instance methods on the identification of cooperative driver pathways and dual-regularised clustering and a collaborative matrix factorization model. She has received numerous awards, including a Yunnan Youth Gold Medal at the Youth College Entrepreneurship Competition and 3rd place at the Huawei Cup at the National Graduate Mathematical Modeling Competition.
