Joy is from Zurich, Switzerland. Already during her bachelor studies at the University of Zurich, she was very interested in neurobiology. During a block course in the Stoeckli lab, she was fascinated by the application of live imaging to study axon guidance. Her master's thesis focuses on the role of extracellular vesicles in neuronal circuit formation.
In her free time she enjoys dancing, skiing and hiking, and has a passion for photography.
