Marcel was born in Zurich. After doing an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering at the ETH, he started working as a technician at different companies (ETH Mechanical Workshop, Heptagon / AMS AG, New Behavior AG / TSE AG). Since 2004, Marcel has been working at the University of Zurich in various departments, including the Institute of Zoology, Department of Evolutionary Biology and Environmental Studies, and currently at the Department of Molecular Life Sciences.
