Biography
Miguel is a Master’s student currently working on his thesis in the Robinson lab. Prior to joining, he completed his undergraduate thesis at the Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa (CBMSO-CSIC), where he applied Transcriptome-Wide Association Studies (TWAS) to investigate the genetic basis of psychiatric traits, specifically bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, and suicide attempt. His current thesis project focuses on the evaluation of foundation models and Local Binary Patterns (LBP) for H&E histology images, alongside the integration of spatial transcriptomics data. Looking ahead, he aims to continue developing his career in bioinformatics and computational biology research, with a strong interest in pursuing future research opportunities in the Zurich area.
