Biography
Jérôme was born in Uster (Switzerland). He obtained his Bachelor degree at the University of Zurich in Biology and Bioinformatics. Before and during his bachelor studies, he worked at the institute of food safety and hygiene and contributed to several scientific publications. In 2019, he started his Master’s degree in developmental biology and genetics at the UZH and completed his Master's project in the Gilmour lab in 2021. There, he was studying the dynamic interaction between the migratory lateral line primordium and the embryonic epidermis in Zebrafish. Currently, Jérôme is involved in planning, conducting and supporting several projects in the lab. His work includes methods such as creating BAC reporter lines, CRISPR-directed knock-outs and endogenous tagging of genes. In his free time, he enjoys playing volleyball, hiking, cooking and gardening.
