Giuseppe Vaccaro, born in New York, studied biological science at the University of Palermo for his Bachelor degree and obtained his Master degree in molecular and cellular biology at the University of Bologna, Italy. In December 2017, he started his PhD in neurobiochemistry at the Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria where he focused on the role of Nogo receptors in the peripheral nervous system. Since May 2019, he joined the lab of Prof. Esther Stoeckli as an external PhD student where he is now interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms of Nogo receptors during commissural axon guidance in the chicken spinal cord. In his free time, Giuseppe enjoys good food, football and spending time with friends.
