Marvin was born in Basel, Switzerland and started his scientific career after an apprenticeship as a technician with F. Hoffmann-La Roche in 2014. He studied his Bachelor's in Molecular Life Sciences at the University of Applied Sciences FHNW in Basel. During that time he worked part time for the start-up company MOMM Diagnostics focusing on preeclampsia research. His undergraduate research included development of novel molecular detection systems for infectious diseases such as tuberculosis. He then came to the University of Zurich and is studying for his master’s study in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He joined the lab in spring of 2021 and will be working on establishing protocols for multiplexed imaging of 3D structures.
