Nicolas obtained his BSc degree in biomedicine at the University of Zurich and then pursued his biomedical MSc degree in in Stephan Neuhauss lab investigating a genetic model of epilepsy in zebrafish. He then decided to continue his scientific career by starting a PhD in the Neuhauss lab in July 2020. His project concerns the understanding of global excitability of the brain and how it is altered during epileptic disease.

Besides the lab, Nicolas enjoys sports such as weightlifting, running, cycling and swimming. Nevertheless, he also appreciates good food and is well known for grilling and smoking meat, as well as producing his own honey.
