Anu did his Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology at IET-DAVV, Indore. He then worked as an engineer in the IT industry. Interested by the possibility to address life-science questions, he moved on to work as a junior research fellow in the lab of Prof. R Sowdhamini (NCBS, Bangalore). He then joined as a PhD student at KTH, Stockholm, where he explored the molecular mechanisms underlying synaptic plasticity in reward learning. During this duration, he worked in the labs of Prof. Jeanette Hellgren (KTH, Stockholm), Prof. Upinder Bhalla (NCBS, Bangalore) and Prof. Pierre Vincent (UPMC, Paris). Currently, as a postdoc in the Müller lab, he is investigating molecular signaling, especially through protein kinases, underlying synaptic homeostasis, using Drosophila NMJ as model system.
